Terms and Conditions

The terms on which Critical Trauma Therapy provides this website and its clinical services. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy. Last updated September 2026.

In plain terms. This website gives general information and is not a substitute for assessment by a clinician. Using it does not make you our client. If you are in crisis, call 9-8-8 or 911 rather than relying on anything here. Our clinical services are governed by the consent you sign at intake, and by the standards of the regulated professions on our team.

1. Who We Are

Critical Trauma Therapy (“we”, “us”) is a multidisciplinary health practice operating in Ontario, Canada, with clinics in Grimsby, Kitchener, Oakville and St. Catharines and services delivered in the community and virtually across Ontario. Our clinicians are members of their respective Ontario regulatory colleges and practise under those colleges’ standards.

Questions about these terms can be sent to info@criticaltraumatherapy.com or by calling 289-547-5911.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using this website you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated version.

3. Information Only, Not Medical Advice

The content on this website, including articles, guides, self-checks, glossaries and descriptions of assessments and treatments, is general information. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it does not create a clinician–client relationship.

Nothing here should be used to delay or replace an assessment by a qualified clinician. Techniques described on the site, such as grounding or graded exposure, carry contraindications that a clinician would assess for; using them without guidance is at your own discretion and risk.

If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 9-8-8 at any time, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department. Our phone line is not a crisis service.

4. Becoming a Client

You become a client of Critical Trauma Therapy only when an intake has been completed and you have given informed consent to treatment. The consent, cancellation and fee documents you sign at that point govern the clinical relationship and take precedence over anything on this website where the two differ.

Contacting us, submitting a form, taking a self-check, or booking an intake call does not by itself make you our client, and we are not responsible for care you have not yet been accepted into.

5. Insurance, Funding and Legal Matters

Descriptions of Ontario’s auto insurance system, accident benefits, forms, deadlines and coverage limits are provided to help you understand the process. They are general, they change, and they are not legal advice. Your own entitlement depends on your policy, your circumstances and the decisions of your insurer.

Where we describe completing forms, submitting funding requests or corresponding with insurers on your behalf, we do so as your treating clinicians and administrative support. We are not lawyers, we do not provide legal representation, and we do not act as your agent in any legal proceeding. Decisions about legal action, settlement and representation are yours, ideally made with a lawyer of your choosing.

Whether treatment is funded by an insurer is decided by the insurer, not by us. Where funding is declined, delayed or exhausted, you are responsible for fees for services you have received, subject to the arrangements agreed with you in writing.

6. Online Booking, Forms and Communications

Online booking is provided through a third-party platform, Jane App, under its own terms and privacy policy. Referral and contact forms on this site are transmitted to us electronically; while we use reasonable safeguards, no transmission over the internet is completely secure, and you should not include more health information in a web form than is needed for us to respond.

Email and text messages are not a secure medium for clinical matters. We may use them for scheduling and general correspondence; please do not use them to report an emergency.

7. Accuracy and Availability

We take care to keep this site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, error-free or up to date at every moment. Service availability, clinic locations, ages served, clinicians and coverage arrangements can change. Please confirm anything you intend to rely on by contacting us.

We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site at any time without notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The content of this website, including text, design, photographs of our clinics and materials we have authored, is owned by or licensed to Critical Trauma Therapy and protected by copyright.

The Mental Health Driving Anxiety Assessment©, The Quantitative Sleep Assessment© and the Functional Impact and Barriers to Recovery Assessment© (FIBRA) are proprietary assessment protocols developed by Critical Trauma Therapy. Their names, structure, scoring and reporting formats are protected and may not be reproduced, adapted or administered by any other provider without our written licence.

You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other reproduction or redistribution requires our written permission. Third-party logos shown on the site belong to their owners and appear to indicate membership, registration or accepted coverage only; they do not imply endorsement.

9. Testimonials and Outcomes

Testimonials on this site are from real clients, published with consent and with identifying details removed. They describe individual experiences and are not a promise of results. Outcomes vary with the person, the injury and the circumstances, and no clinician can guarantee a particular result.

10. Third-Party Links

The site links to external organisations, including crisis lines, government programmes, regulatory colleges, community services and our related CTT Wellness site. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use this site in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with its operation, that attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, or that harvests contact details or content from it. You agree not to submit false information through our forms or to impersonate another person.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, Critical Trauma Therapy and its clinicians, staff and contractors are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content, including information about insurance entitlement, deadlines or self-help techniques.

Nothing in these terms limits our professional obligations to clients under the consent to treatment they have signed, our regulatory colleges’ standards, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Any dispute relating to the website is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
