The People Behind Your Care

Our Psychologists, Therapists & Clinicians

Over fifty clinicians across four clinics and every corner of Ontario, drawn from six regulated professions. Having every discipline in one place means that where you would like them to work together, and funding allows, they can.

Every clinician is registered with their Ontario regulatory college, carries professional liability insurance, and works to a single documentation standard so your care reads consistently whoever provides it.

Who You Might See

Our Disciplines

You do not need to work out which profession is right for you. We will talk it through at intake and match you with the clinician whose training best suits what you are going through.

Registered Psychologists

Doctoral-level clinicians who diagnose and treat psychological conditions, and who conduct our psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

Trained in psychometric testing, which is how a diagnosis becomes based on measured results rather than impressions.

Registered Social Workers

Trained in psychotherapy and delivering the same therapeutic modalities as our registered psychotherapists, including CBT, EMDR, and trauma-focused approaches. What they add is an understanding of the systems around a person: income supports, housing, family strain, benefits, and community services.

They conduct our Functional Impact and Barriers to Recovery Assessment©, the Mental Health Driving Anxiety Assessment©, and The Quantitative Sleep Assessment©, and complete Ontario Works, ODSP, and CPP Disability documentation.

Registered Psychotherapists

Specialists in delivering therapy, trained in the talking therapies with trauma-focused modalities including CBT, EMDR, and somatic approaches. Where accident benefits funding does not extend to psychotherapy, our social workers provide the same treatment, so your care is not affected either way.

Many hold additional certification in specific areas such as grief, addiction, or paediatric work.

Nurse Practitioners

Nurse practitioners assess, diagnose, prescribe and adjust medication, order diagnostic imaging and laboratory investigations, and complete the medical forms that require a prescriber’s signature. Disability Certificates (OCF-3) are completed by our clinicians.

A genuine advantage in a system where prescribing access is the usual bottleneck.

Physiotherapists

Assessment and treatment of whiplash, back and neck injury, headaches, reduced mobility, and chronic pain, along with brain injury, concussion, spinal cord injury, and amputation rehabilitation, including our device-based Neuromuscular and Gait Assessment.

They also treat scarring and swelling, including lymphedema management and compression garment prescription through Ontario’s Assistive Devices Program. Physiotherapy can be provided on its own, or alongside the mental health team where you would like the two coordinated, since pain and mood are rarely separate problems.

Registered Dietitians

Nutrition assessment and treatment where injury, jaw pain, medication or low mood has changed how someone eats.

Available from age six, and often the discipline nobody thought to involve until recovery had stalled.

Also On Our Roster

Consulting Specialists

For assessments requiring medical specialty opinion, particularly catastrophic impairment determination, we coordinate the specialists a file needs rather than sending you to find them.

Psychiatry

Physician-level opinion on diagnosis, prognosis and medication, including complex and treatment-resistant presentations.

Medical Specialists

Orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, physiatrists, ENT specialists, neuro-optometrists, and chronic pain specialists, arranged as the assessment requires.

Interpretation Services

On-demand medical interpretation in more than 300 languages, at no additional cost to you. Interpretation is provided through Boostlingo, a medical interpreting platform that is independently audited for security (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001). Interpreters are bound by confidentiality, and sessions are not recorded.

Understanding the Professions

Psychologist, Psychotherapist, or Social Worker?

A question we are asked constantly, and one nobody explains clearly. Here is the plain answer.

What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychotherapist?

Both provide talk therapy, and for most people the therapy itself feels much the same. The difference is scope of practice. A psychologist is a doctoral-level clinician who can formally diagnose psychological conditions and administer psychometric testing, which is why psychologists conduct our psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

A registered psychotherapist specialises in delivering therapy. They are trained in the same treatment approaches, including CBT, EMDR, and trauma-focused work, but do not perform diagnostic testing.

If you need a diagnosis or a formal assessment report, you will see a psychologist. If you are looking for ongoing therapy, either is appropriate, and psychotherapy is usually available sooner and at a lower hourly cost.

Where does a registered social worker fit in?

Our social workers are trained in psychotherapy and deliver the same therapeutic modalities as our registered psychotherapists. If you see one for therapy, you are receiving the same standard of clinical treatment.

What they bring in addition is training in the systems around a person. Income supports, housing, benefits, family strain, and community services are all part of their professional scope, so they can address the practical pressures that make recovery harder alongside the therapy itself.

For accident clients this is often the most useful combination, because the paperwork and the funding problems are frequently as distressing as the injury.

What about nurse practitioners?

Our nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions using the DSM-5, the same diagnostic manual used by psychologists and psychiatrists. They can also prescribe and oversee medication, monitor how you are responding to it, and make adjustments over time.

They work closely with our counselling team, so if medication would help alongside therapy, that conversation can happen here rather than through a separate referral and another wait. Equally, if medication is not needed, they will say so.

In practice this means one team can diagnose, prescribe, and provide therapy, which is unusual outside a hospital setting and often the difference between treatment starting now and treatment starting in six months.

So which one should I see?

You do not need to decide. Tell us what you are dealing with and we will explain who would suit you best and why.

Coverage can also be a factor. Some extended health plans cover psychology but not psychotherapy, or social work but not both, so we will check your plan before recommending anyone.

Does it cost more to see a psychologist?

Generally yes, because of the level of training involved. Under accident benefits, each profession has its own hourly rate set by the insurer, and we will always tell you what applies before you begin.

Where a diagnosis is not needed, seeing a psychotherapist or social worker means your funding covers considerably more hours of therapy, which for most people matters more than the letters after their clinician’s name.

How We Work

What You Can Expect From Any Clinician Here

Individual clinicians differ in training and personality. These standards do not.

Properly Regulated

Every clinician is registered with their Ontario college, in good standing, and practising within their scope. Credentials are verified before anyone sees a client, and we will provide you with your clinician’s registration number if you ask.

Matched, Not Assigned

We consider what you are dealing with, your age, your language, and your preferences about who you speak to. If the match is wrong, say so and we will change it. That is a normal request, not a complaint.

Working As One Team

All clinicians chart to a single documentation standard, so your file reads consistently from intake to discharge.

Trauma-Informed Throughout

Including reception and administrative staff. How someone is greeted on a first visit matters as much as what happens in the appointment room.
