Treatments at Our Oakville Clinic
Evidence-based care for the brain and the mind, delivered by one coordinated team.
Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)
Oakville is the only CTT location offering BrainsWay Deep TMS. Every course is led by a psychiatrist and guided by qEEG brain mapping before and after treatment, so your progress can be measured. Sessions are drug-free, you stay awake, and you can drive home afterward. Accelerated TMS is available. For adults, and for teens on a case-by-case basis.
Approved uses: major depression, anxious depression, OCD and smoking cessation.
Based on physician assessment: PTSD, migraines and headaches, alcohol and substance use, cognitive fog and cognitive enhancement, traumatic brain injury, tinnitus, Parkinson's disease and autism support.
Neurofeedback & Biofeedback
Brain and body training that uses real-time feedback to help the brain learn to regulate itself. We use it with children, teens and adults for ADHD and focus, anxiety, sleep, depression, PTSD and trauma, and recovery after concussion or brain injury.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Practical, structured therapy for teens and adults that targets the thoughts and habits behind anxiety, depression, trauma and stress. CBT is also built into every TMS course.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Individual DBT for teens and adults struggling with intense emotions, self-harm urges, impulsivity or relationship strain.
Play Therapy
For children aged 5 to 12, play is how they work through big feelings and hard experiences. Our therapists use play and child-adapted counselling to help kids feel safe, express themselves and build coping skills.
Care for Every Age
Treatment plans shaped around each stage of life.
Children (5 to 12)
Play therapy, child-adapted counselling and neurofeedback for anxiety, ADHD and attention, school stress, behaviour and emotional regulation, trauma, low mood, sleep problems and self-harm. Parents are part of the plan.
Teens
CBT, DBT, neurofeedback and counselling for anxiety, depression, self-harm, school pressure, trauma, sleep and focus, with TMS considered on a case-by-case basis.
Adults
CBT, DBT, neurofeedback and Deep TMS for depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, addictions, brain injury and more, plus our specialized recovery care after a car accident.
Therapy for Teens in Oakville
The teen years bring pressure from every direction: school, friendships, social media, sports, and figuring out who you are. When anxiety, low mood or big emotions start getting in the way, our Oakville team helps teens build real skills to cope.
If you're a teen reading this: this is your space. You won't be judged, lectured or rushed. You get a say in what we work on, and you can go at your own pace. Feeling nervous at first is completely normal.
What We Help With
Anxiety and panic, depression and low mood, self-harm and urges to self-harm, school stress and burnout, trouble focusing or ADHD, sleep problems, emotional ups and downs, and recovery after a traumatic event such as a car accident.
How We Help
CBT: practical tools for anxious thoughts, low mood and stress.
DBT: skills for intense emotions, self-harm urges and conflict.
Neurofeedback: brain training that can support focus, calm and sleep.
TMS: considered case by case for older teens when depression or OCD hasn't improved with other treatment, with psychiatrist oversight.
Your Privacy & Your Parents
What you share with your therapist stays private. With your consent, we let your parents know how things are going in general and how they can support you at home, without sharing the details of your sessions. Parents are part of the plan, and you stay in control of your story.
Sessions are available in our clinic at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, in your home nearby, or virtually anywhere in Ontario.
Recovery After a Collision
Motor vehicle accident recovery is our specialty rather than a sideline.
Counselling & Trauma Therapy
PTSD, anxiety, depression, driving anxiety, grief and family strain, treated in Oakville with CBT, DBT and other evidence-based approaches, alongside TMS and neurofeedback where they can help.
Assessments That Measure
Psychological, neuropsychological, psychiatric, chronic pain and vocational assessment, plus objective measurement of sleep, driving anxiety and physical function using FDA-cleared devices.
One Team, Coordinated Care
Where you would like more than one discipline, each has its own treatment plan, and your clinicians can coordinate those plans and speak to each other about your recovery, with your consent. If you already have providers you trust, keep them and we will coordinate with them.
We Handle the Paperwork
We complete and submit your insurer funding requests, track response deadlines, and respond in writing where treatment is denied.
Accessing Care: Insurance & Funding
We work with private insurance and extended health benefits, accident benefits after a car accident, EAP and Veterans Affairs Canada, and we welcome self-pay clients. Flexible financing is available. To learn about TMS fees, book a free consultation or contact us. We're happy to walk you through your options.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral?
Not for therapy, counselling or neurofeedback. You can book directly. TMS requires a referral from your doctor.
Is TMS covered by OHIP or insurance?
TMS at our clinic is not covered by OHIP. Some extended health plans may contribute, so check your policy. Financing is available, and we'll go over costs at your free consultation.
Who is a good candidate for TMS?
Adults, and some teens, whose depression, anxiety, OCD or other conditions haven't improved enough with medication or therapy. Your psychiatrist confirms whether it's right for you.
Does neurofeedback help kids with ADHD or anxiety?
Neurofeedback is used to help children improve focus, calm and sleep. We'll discuss whether it suits your child at the consultation.
What's the difference between CBT and DBT?
CBT focuses on changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. DBT adds skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress and improving relationships.
Will parents know what my teen talks about in therapy?
Teens open up when they feel safe, so what they share with their therapist stays private. With your teen's consent, we let you know how things are going in general and how you can help at home, without sharing the details of their sessions. The only exception is a concern about someone's safety, and wherever possible we talk with your teen first about what happens next.
Is care covered after a car accident?
Yes. Approved accident benefits care is billed directly to your insurer, and we handle the funding paperwork.
