Practical

How It Works in Niagara

What to expect across the region.

Where exactly is the clinic?

Inside the Marotta Family Hospital, 1200 Fourth Avenue, Unit 2, St. Catharines. Parking is validated for your appointment, so bring your ticket in with you.

The clinic is wheelchair accessible with a waiting area for family members. Being in a hospital building also means straightforward access if you are attending other appointments there.

Which parts of Niagara do you cover?

Clinic appointments in St. Catharines, and in-home visits across Niagara Falls, Welland, Thorold, Fort Erie, Crystal Beach, Ridgeway, Port Colborne, Wainfleet, Pelham, Fonthill, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Virgil, Grimsby, Beamsville, Vineland, Jordan, Smithville and West Lincoln.

Virtual appointments are available anywhere in Ontario, which suits clients in the more rural parts of the region.

Do you see children?

Yes, from age four at our St. Catharines clinic. Dietitian services are available from age six.

Therapy is adapted to age, using play and structured activity with younger children and more direct conversation with teenagers. Children rarely say they are struggling, so we look for the signs that appear instead: refusing the car, nightmares, trouble at school, or anger that seems to come from nowhere.

How is it funded?

Treatment after a collision is funded through your auto insurer’s accident benefits regardless of fault. We complete the paperwork and bill the insurer directly, so approved care costs you nothing out of pocket.

Without an accident claim, most extended health plans provide coverage, and we offer sliding-scale rates, protected accounts and financing where they do not.

What if driving is the problem?

Tell us when you call. Fear of driving after a collision is extremely common in a region where most journeys require a car, and it is something we assess and treat directly using FDA-cleared virtual reality and biofeedback.

In the meantime we can come to you, see you virtually, or arrange transportation.
